I have saved two non-functioning laptops with a 1920×1080 resolution screen that I was planning to strip and use the screen for making a thin monitor. My plan was to use the onboard controller but I have not got around to it.
But I found this little guy on ebay M.NT68676.2A, its a LCD/LED Screen Controller Board with HDMI, DVI, VGA and Audio inputs for only 38 USD. I got it yesterday, I had to test it right away and it worked really good, it saved me alot of hours 🙂
